Laodicea Is Here

It has come to this
And Adam’s bunch would surely.
The great lessons of Galilee
Under the shadowed approach
Of a Cross
Now somehow out-dated
Compartmentalized
Reduced to one of
A number of tempting options
A good bit of moral history
But not a life dynamic
Not a Love Revolution
Not my Son’s unquenchable
Interest in the unlovely and hurting.
You say that you are rich
That I have blessed you
No rather, I stood aside
And watched you
Hoard the fool’s gold.
You say that you are in fashion
The glamour message of art
And commerce would seem to affirm
But I have offered a Righteous Robe
One that moves mountains
Feeds and replenishes
Shines like the dawning sun.
And here it is
Still in the box
Crinkled white paper
Barely pulled back for a look-see.
You say that you see
Truly, all of the important.
But those are eyes of flesh and
Science and self-interest
Unaware of the pitfalls
Blind to the flashings of Spirit
That would brighten you
And those around
For all Eternity.
I don’t stand in the way
Of all of this…this arrival
Of my Beloved.
Poor…naked…blind.
Out of step.
Distracted.
Lukewarm.
A few will bear
The breaking and shaking up
And come Home.
With everlasting joy
Upon their heads.

And the strong delusion prophesied as well.
Look at the long row of zeros in replies, sad, unengaged, everyone wants to be heard but no one wants to engage. High number of views but lackluster participation, a reflection of the state of the church by every visible indication.
And if one were to stir the pot and call each other out, resentment and bitterness tinged with anger is all that would evoke.
So we write, preach to the choir we think, but it is no choir, no church only ruins of what once was raised up and razed down once more.
One response, one thoughtful reply whether critical or contrary to be openly discussed in truth what would that cost us? When Jesus paid it all for us, why so squeamish and unsure?
All the views in the world amount to nothing more than slowing down at a roadside crash site momentarily and just moving on without a second thought.
Shades of the "good Samaritan" thank you for stopping to help lift me up and know that the actions go not unseen nor in vain.
So, good sir I write this response to you with a heavy heart and to let you know that I "get" you, for whatever that may be worth.
And that in a sea of unadulterated, self-serving, self indulgent, insincere devoid of Holy Spirit anointing offerings does it not strike one as strange that at least when one breath of fresh air emerges it is simply regarded as unremarkable and goes unnoticed for the most part.
Please keep writing but I hope you find a more responsive, alive, audience for your work, i pray that you will.
God Bless!

Great poem, yo. Hey, maybe everyone else has a messed up computer like I do and the flash on this site tends to throw it into shock. No doubt.
