PostSubject: no matter what my yesterday...   Sat Jul 19, 2014 2:58 pm

I've prayed to the dollar and I've prayed to the gun
I've been my own Public Enemy No.1
I can't undo the things I've done
so I now run to the Father...I fly toward the Son...

I spread my wings to fly...goodbye

Rain and pain no longer falling from my eye
God's released the weight...I can now rise high
beyond this world...beyond blue sky

I hear God's voice as he whispers to me
Freedom within will truly set me free
Vision from within truly allows me to see
I see I'm free to be better than the me I used to be

The me I'm meant to be hasn't quite happened yet
but memories of a child from my past I once met
race through my mind as to not let me forget
I have to crawl before I walk...before my final sunset

The Eleventh Hour comes quicker than we know
It could be 10:45...almost the end of the show
Before I die, Lord...please let me grow
back into the child I should have never let go

Well before the world crept in
and before my eyes saw the color of skin
we were clothed with the color of love from within
Alas, welcome to the world...the ugly world of sin

Before I became so "mature"
and before I knew I was always so sure
Back when I was innocent...back when I was pure
Yet the world, by its own poison, led me to the cure

I have to learn to relearn what I know in reverse
I have to love again in order to break the world's curse
Rhyme by rhyme...verse by verse...
poetry flowing from the slow-rolling hearse...

The Lord hears my prayers when I don't know how to pray

and he comprehends my words when I don't know what to say
He understands my tears as they wash the pain away
and he promises tomorrow, no matter what my yesterday...
