The orphan- the poem

It is still morning pink,
When the twelve years old boy;
Gets up and stretches out
His weak-bonny body.
He scratches all over.
For his skin has been food
To all tiny creatures;
Those were hunting by night.
Their bites most of the night;
Have kept him wide awake.

He will leave the junk yard,
Before the workers crush
The van that offered him
Some cover for the night.
He refused to feel bad
About what he did
To satisfy his need.
May be today will bring
More honor to his life
And good things will come up.

He starts dreaming again:
A very old lady
Will insist for some work
And therefore give a pay.
The lovely lady will
At noon bring a plate;
And even some sweet cake.
And in the afternoon,
She will say: "You may use
The shed during the night."

And from now on he would
Find shelter, food and shed.
And one day will become
The heir to the lady.
And as a son, he will
Go to school and get dressed
Just like all other boys.
But the dream is over.
And he will share the food
Left for cats and for dogs.

That one made me want to weep. What a beautiful piece. You really captured the heartache in this one.
