Dust

Swirling eddies by the curbside
Caught up by mini windstorms
Unimpressive piles left behind.
Once might have been something,
A rock monument left in recognition
of long forgotten comquests.
A fortification for protection, perhaps.
Maybe a once majestic sight
From a far away place.
Now broken down to the almost
Barest of properties
Once strong, now pushed around with ease.
A look in the mirror.
What is there?
What is left?
What will be left behind?
Have I done something
Before I
Turn to
Dust?

Wow! I love everything about this piece, the narrowing, funnel shape of a tornado, the way the subject matter follows along with its shape. Very nice work! My favorite of your so far.
