PostSubject: Another amen   Fri May 03, 2013 3:38 pm

"I am thirsty..." It hurts my heart to think

Vinegar on a sponge as he received his final drink

"It is finished..." I can almost hear it

With that he bowed his head and gave up his spirit...

AND FOR WHAT?!...So I could mess my life up again

How many times will I say amen

How many more times must I fall

and find myself broken at the wailing wall

I pray...Lord, take me away

because it's hard in this world getting through another day

I look, I lust, I dishonor your trust

I see the demon coming and I try and readjust

I try and take a left when I see him on my right

but he catches me hiding in the middle of the night

I put up a fight, I promise I do

but when it's all said and done, Lord, I turn away from you

because I let temptation get in my head

and I let the world get in my bed

and I let the pleasure attack my soul

because I let myself get out of control

I let go of your hand and quickly shuffle both feet

and then I get ran down in the middle of the street

Once again, there you are, offering your hand

always picking me up, and helping me stand

Dusting me off, and holding me tight

and letting me know it's gonna be alright

but do I listen, learn my lesson, finally understand your love

No, I just keep on running after what my flesh is thinking of

and I know it's all a trap, a clever devilish attack

as I smile at a woman and the woman smiles back

and the numbers we exchange don't change the way I feel

and I know I'll never love her because I know this love's not real

but none of that matters when we're enjoying each other

and when the morning comes...I vow there won't be another

HEEEEELP!!!...Why can't I just be on my own

I could have one, ten, twenty...but I'm still all alone

because the emptiness leaves me feeling unfulfilled

as I finally realize it's myself I just killed

Suicide by sex equals sex by suicide

and I can run and I can cry and I can try my best to hide

and I can hide from myself, but I can never hide from you

and I know in my heart, dearest Lord, that it's true

One more time, I know I messed things up again

because I'm ending this rhyme with another amen

I remember a minister saying that He asked God to save him and cast his sin away forever and cast it into the deepest sea.

Then he came to God in tears and confessed, "God I committed that sin again. Forgive me."

And God asked him "What sin?"

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

yeah, but without the monkeys, I'd have nothing to write about! Whaaaaat?! Much love, Anthony. Always, in all ways. Miss Thena, you are always a smile waitin' to happen. No doubt. Thank you for being you. Word.

Wow! There's no sugar coating here. Love the openness, brother. May it bless many others.
