PostSubject: Crucifixion   Fri Jan 11, 2013 6:11 am

CRUCIFIXION
Loud did curses ring upon this slave

Forced to bow within marbled halls

With disapproving eye they gave

The Savior of the world and He was mauled
On that cold stone floor, in meekness

And alone, in His agony and cries

The soldiers spat upon His face

Striking Him with reeds all in one place

Bleeding and battered presented to the throne

No apostle stood beside Him…He stood, He stood alone

Governors demanded His crucifixion none knew fear

Pontius Pilate declared I wash with water clear

From my hands, the blood of this just person

With that the soldiers stripped his bloody garment

Upon His back they placed a robe of brilliant scarlet

His head harshly pressed a crown of woven thorns

A cross they fashioned from the sacred Olive tree

For Him to carry upon His back to save such as thee

He trod the rocky path to the top of Calvary’s Hill

Burdened by each and all the worlds known sin

He hung upon that cross till ninth hour had passed

Then Our Savior cried “Eli, Eli, La’-ma sa-bach-tha-ni”**

In the darkness Christ yielded up the ghost

And the earth did quake and dead arose

With Grace He hung upon that Cross

To lead us all to the new home His Father chose

**”My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46

I like this thought, thanks for the picture.

And the earth did quake and dead arose
With Grace He hung upon that Cross

Jesus died once so that each day we may arise to life for him

It means so much that you all liked this, I have never been one to write poetry just short stories, and when I returned to church a bit over a year ago it was after 30 yrs of no church. I believed just thought as long as I read the Bible and prayed in time of trouble I would be ok. then my daughter was murdered and I cursed God something fierce and truly hated Him - He accepted that I was out of my mind and woke me one morning with the Holy Spirit. Now I am a reborn Christian and have been asking Him to help me ..if I should continue writing. for some reason I started writing poetry...which I have NEVER been good at. So to have others think these are worth reading and commenting on I feel it is only Gods gift and toHim goes the glory. Amen.

I never would have guessed that you weren't a poet, and what a powerful testimony you've got. I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what that must have been like. It seems the Lord is doing a mighty work through you.

I didn't realize what a fresh wound that was. I'm so glad that you have found a way through writing, at least in part, to express what you've gone through. It can be very healing, but it also has a way of touching others who are going through similar tragedies, and in turn, bless you through knowing that you may be helping others. Writing can yield a triple blessing. Praise God! He knew what He was doing when he gave your gift for writing. I will definitely take a look at your blogs.

You are a joy and a blessing through the sharing of your newly refreshed sight!
Physically you are...but spiritually...you are not "in Kansas anymore!"
