PostSubject: An Old Piece of Wood   Mon Dec 26, 2011 7:41 am

4/4 signature time
Written in a hospital ICU unit

vs. 1
It was an old piece of wood, cut a long time ago,
And if that piece of wood could speak,
Oh, the stories that could be told.
But the greatest tale that it would tell,
Would be about the flood,
Not the one about the water, no,
But the one about the blood.

cho.
Just an old piece of rugged wood,
From an old rugged tree.
But it's what happened on that wood,
That changed everything for me.
Life flowed fresh and new that day,
For all the world to see.
On that old piece of rugged wood,
From and old rugged tree.

vs. 2
You see, this old piece of wood,
Was used many times.
Men of crime paid the price,
Hanging untill they died.
But the man that hung there that day,
Died to set men free.
And the blood that ran down that old piece of wood,
Still works for you and for me.

cho.
Just an old piece of rugged wood,
From an old rugged tree.
But it's what happened on that woo,
That changed everything for me.
Life flowed fresh and new that day,
For all the world to see.
On that old piece of rugged wood,
From an old rugged tree.

Oh man, I wish I knew the tune to that one. I go to a gospel singing about once a month and I can imagine laying that one on them. They are like a jam session, but they are better than most who make records. That is just beautiful.

Thank ya'll for the kind comments, and as soon as I get my new laptop, I plan on uploading the recorded version. What I have right now is too slow, along with our internet. don't forget this is BACK wood Arkansas. Not all of the state is this way, just where I choose to live. Quiet and seclusion.
